Convergence is occurring at both IT and Physical security as well as the green devices. Smart edge devices will demand integration and understanding of interdependency of technology and processes. The market is in a state of flux (www.ose.org) and markets have hit the "reset" button. the new norm will be determined by leaders in the industry and the "community's willingness to be engaged. (www.aesrm.org)

Computing in the "cloud" will add additional disruption to the new normal. It is imperative for the security manufacturer, IT providers, Integrators, and the community to communicate and arrive at the future in an organized way - by design....and not by response to fleeting ideas and personal, self motivated issues---> but for the right reasons for the best way all should provide value. I believe value will win at the end of the day... but what do we have to go through to get there?

It is incredibly difficult to truly converge physical facilities and IT, it requires support from upper management to overcome the inherent challenge in logistics, politics and even language as the terminology used by each group is so fundamentally different.

Following the converge of the physical subsystems (i.e. MEP services) with the aid of microprocessors and computing power it seems that day after day that we getting closer to their hollistic intergration.

Approaching a whole building from a single point of reference gives without doubt the ability for better control and as a result greener buildings. However it sound quite risky to start mixing the IT with the Facilities people aiming to bring a converge also at this level.

well, i have to say i'm not in agreement with these conclusions, but i like your viewpoint. this subject has too many variables and false info in the market that i do not know what to believe. i guess it's a matter of being informed. buy acai
